Women Building Better Communities

We are an organization of women in the Halifax Regional Municipality (HRM) who volunteer together to develop and deliver effective, impactful projects which meet identified community needs. For over 85 years, we have worked toward  achieving our vision of empowered women creating lasting positive community change.

GirlsLink, our  current programme, helps empower girls aged 9-12, by strengthening their sense of  self-esteem, because we know strong girls become strong women – and strong women Build Better Communities!

Community

Since 1933 we have developed and delivered  specifically designed projects to meet identified community needs. Through needs assessment analysis, we find programming gaps, and fill them.  Together, we have helped strengthen a wide variety of communities within Halifax and HRM. Over almost 90 years, we have contributed thousands of volunteer hours to help improve the communities around us. We strive to be agents of social change and civic leaders.  If you do, too, then:
