Women Building Better Communities
GirlsLink, our current programme, helps empower girls aged 9-12, by strengthening their sense of self-esteem, because we know strong girls become strong women – and strong women Build Better Communities!
2019 marks the beginning of the Junior League of Halifax’s NEXT 85 years of dynamic impact in the HRM community!
If you want to develop your leadership skills; be inspired by what you can do to help make your community a better place for us all – make great friends – and network – ALL while making a true difference in HRM, then the Junior League of Halifax is for YOU!
Since 1933 we have developed and delivered specifically designed projects to meet identified community needs. Through needs assessment analysis, we find programming gaps, and fill them. Together, we have helped strengthen a wide variety of communities within Halifax and HRM. Over almost 90 years, we have contributed thousands of volunteer hours to help improve the communities around us. We strive to be agents of social change and civic leaders. If you do, too, then:
We depend on local resources to support our work in the community. By supporting the JLH, you are supporting an organization devoted to training women leaders to create lasting community change.
